Little Bell Pepper seeds are a variety that blooms early with thick walls, densely set onto dwarf plants with short branches. At the "green" eating stage these are a ‘transparent' apple yellow color, ripening through orange to a dark red at maturity. This pepper prefers warmer soil temperatures (80-90 degrees F). Well adapted for northern climates with short seasons. We recommend to plant the Bell Pepper seeds indoors 1″-2″ apart about 8-10 weeks before transplanting to 2-3″ pots after true leaves appear. Then transplant outside 2-4 weeks after last frost date (or when soil temperature reaches at least 60 degrees).Placing: Full Sun Planting Depth: 1/2-inch. Spacing: 12-inch. Maturity: 96 Days Plant Type: Annual 10-percent of all seed sales will be donated to the State Farmers Market Association We feel it's very important to support local farms, farmers and their families. This line of seeds was developed in collaboration with the State Farmers Market Association. For each on-line purchase we will donate 10-percent of seed sales to the Farmers Market Association so they can continue to support local markets and help local farmers. Our Heritage Farmers Market Seeds are Certified Organic seeds from small, independent farms. For four generations our family-run seed packing business has provided quality seed to farmers and families. It all started with our Great Grandfather, Cecil Solly, a horticulturalist in the Seattle, Washington area from 1924 until his death in 1965. During his lifetime he was the editor for Northwest Gardens Magazine, had a daily column in The Seattle Times, The Tacoma News Tribune and Western Homes Magazine. He starred in a 30 year running daily radio program called "Garden on the Air" and was Founder and President of the Puget Sound Seed Company. Grandpa Cecil was very active in local gardening communities and clubs - always ready and willing to share his gardening knowledge, making him the Original Master Gardener.

74 days. As bright and festive as a mariachi band, these extra-large red, orange, and yellow peppers lend a south-of-the-border look to the appetizer tray or dinner table! Selected for juicy sweet flavor, a crisp bite, and excellent tolerance of disease and virus, they are both delicious and decorative!Fruit ripens midseason on very heavy-bearing, vigorous plants. Measuring a huge 7 inches long and 5 inches wide at the shoulder (tapering to about 4 inches at the base), these 3- to 4-lobed bells have thick walls and shiny skins. Great for stuffing, slicing into rings, or decorating the table! Add them to any dish that needs a little "salsa color"!Start seeds indoors or, in climate with short growing seasons, outdoors at least one week after last frost. If starting indoors, allow 7 to 10 weeks for the seeds to mature into seedlings large enough to transplant safely. Set seedlings (or thin direct-sown seedlings) 2 feet apart in full sun. If planting many seedlings, space rows about 3 feet apart. Fertilize when the blooms appear, and water well. Fruit can be picked green and allowed to ripen and turn color in a sunny window, but is most nutritious if allowed to ripen on the plant. Pkt is 20 seeds.
